Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and AfriContest ("we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the AfriContest platform available at www.africontest.com (the "Platform") and all related services.

1. About AfriContest

AfriContest is a global talent-mining platform dedicated to discovering, showcasing, and rewarding exceptional intellectual capacity and creative talent, with a primary focus on African youth and talent worldwide. The Platform facilitates merit-based competitions across multiple disciplines.

2. Eligibility and Registration

2.1 General Eligibility

• Be at least 18 years of age, OR be a minor with verifiable parental/guardian consent
• Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
• Provide accurate, complete, and current registration information
• Maintain only ONE account per person

2.2 Minor Participation

Participants under 18 years of age require a parent or legal guardian to complete and sign a Parental Consent Form. Prize payments for minor winners are made exclusively to the parent/guardian's verified account.

3. Contest Participation

3.1 Entry Fees

3.2 Content Submission

• All submitted work must be your own original creation
• You grant AfriContest a non-exclusive license to use, display, and evaluate your submission
• Your submission must not violate any third-party rights
• Your submission must not contain illegal, defamatory, or offensive content

3.3 Voting

• Votes are NON-REFUNDABLE once purchased
• Vote manipulation, fraudulent voting, or bot-generated votes are strictly prohibited
• Self-voting is prohibited

4. Prize Distribution

4.1 Full Prize Distribution

If a contest generates total revenue equal to or exceeding the advertised prize pool amount, full prizes are distributed to winners as specified.

4.2 Partial Compensation for Failed Contests

If a contest fails to meet the minimum threshold, participants receive 25% of the VOTE REVENUE generated specifically for their entry.

4.3 Winner Obligations

• Respond to winner notification within 14 days
• Complete identity verification
• Provide tax documentation if required
• Winners are solely responsible for tax obligations

5. Wallet and Payments

• Funds added to your wallet are NON-REFUNDABLE
• Withdrawal requests are processed within 3-7 business days
• Minimum withdrawal amounts apply
• Account must be verified for withdrawals
• Withdrawals may be delayed if fraud or policy violations are suspected

6. Prohibited Conduct

The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in account termination:

• Creating multiple accounts
• Submitting plagiarized or stolen content
• Vote manipulation or using bots
• Using stolen payment methods or fraudulent chargebacks
• Hacking or compromising platform security
• Harassing, threatening, or bullying other users
• Impersonating another person or entity

7. Intellectual Property

AfriContest and all Platform content are protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your submitted content but grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display your content for Platform operations and marketing.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "AS IS" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AfriContest shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the lesser of the total amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100.

9. Dispute Resolution

• We encourage amicable resolution through good-faith negotiation
• If negotiation fails, disputes proceed to mediation
• These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales
• Disputes are subject to exclusive jurisdiction of English courts
• Claims must be filed within one (1) year

10. Account Termination

You may terminate your account at any time. Upon termination, unclaimed wallet funds may be forfeited. We may terminate accounts for Terms violations, fraudulent activity, or extended inactivity.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email and platform notice. Continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance.
